Alexander School

Here are the AES Announcements for November 23rd.

If your child is having breakfast at school, please make sure they are there by 8:00.

Don’t forget about the upcoming Christmas party that is put on by the Alexander Grange and Friends of the Grange.  Although this is not a school-sponsored event, please remember school rules should still be followed.  All children must be accompanied and supervised by an adult.  The Christmas party is open for all children in Alexander, Crawford, and Cooper.

As a reminder, the 8th Grade Class will be selling RADA Cutlery, until Friday, December 9th.  It will be back in time for Christmas.  AES has Rada books available at the Office if you know of anyone who would like to make a purchase.  This fundraiser will help towards the end of the year 8th grade class trip.

Don’t forget about adult volleyball, which is held on Tuesdays at the AES gym from 7:00-9:00 pm.  All adults welcome.  It is great fun!

The Alexander school still has organic garlic for sale.  It is $3.00 for 3 ounces.

Gertie Pulk from Eastport won the PTG Thanksgiving basket raffle.  Thank you Gertie for supporting AES!

It is that time of year again. It is getting chilly and the wind always seems to blow on the hill at AES and all students should come to school prepared to go outside for recess.  That would include warmer outerwear, hats, mittens or gloves.  Please remember to send sneakers to school with your student for gym class.

Thanksgiving week was a short one at AES, so the only day the library was open was on Tuesday, November 22nd and it was a busy and productive day, with some of the kids from Grades 4-8 coming in the morning.  Some of the kids had work to do, so used the time as a study hall.  Others helped make decorations for the upcoming 2016 Community Christmas party.  Later in the day, grades 2 and 3 were in and they made some decorations for the party also.  They also made Thanksgiving fortune tellers, some of the kids were very speedy and had extra time and did some pumpkin coloring or Mad Libs.  Oh, since it was library they renewed, returned and signed out books.
