Although it was a short school week, it was pretty much action packed! Monday afternoon/evening, the After School Program held a pie making activity for students in grades 3 through 8 and their parents. The activity was to run over supper time, so supper was served as well. Students were able to make squash pies from the actual butternut squash, roasted and mashed. After the pies were done, there was time enough to make a couple of batches of pumpkin chocolate chip cookies. All in all, we made 15 pies. Each family who attended were able to take at least one pie home for the holiday. Every family also left with ½ dozen or more cookies as well. Future activities or news concerning the ASP will be reported here.

On Wednesday, the day before Thanksgiving, we held our first school wide academic celebration. Everyone gathered in the gym at 9:00 AM. Each student in every grade who met a goal or achievement that was set for them, was called up to receive a certificate and to be celebrated. Also to be celebrated for the first trimester of school were 13 students with perfect attendance to date. The students with perfect attendance were:

Kyleigh Thompson, Beckham Best, Ahtuwen Best, Ryan Campbell, Mason Dana, Nate Dana, Isaac Downing, Jack Downing, Chaiden Newell Theo Mitchell, Kaiden Sockabasin, Sylvia Brown, and Nicole Nicholas. Each one of these students received a T-shirt specially designed for awesome attendance. Congratulations to you all! Good attendance at school puts you ahead of the game! In the class room competition for the best attendance, we had grade 3 in first place, grade 7 in second place, and grade 1 in third place.

Another treat on our celebration day was the first singing of our new school song, in Passamaquoddy. The song was written/translated by our Passamaquoddy Language teacher, and sung by our 8th grade students. Soon, all students will learn the song and sing it at all of our celebrations.
