Straight off the presses from AES’s Friday announcements.

The 4-year-olds will be receiving stickers if they return their lunch forms filled out.

As a reminder, the 8th-grade class will be selling RADA cutlery, until Friday, December 9th.  It will be back in time for Christmas.  AES has Rada books available at the office if you know of anyone who would like to make a purchase.  This fundraiser will help towards the end of the year 8th-grade class trip.

Don’t forget about adult volleyball, which is held on Tuesdays at the AES gym from 7:00-9:00 pm.  All adults welcome.  It is a great and fun time!

The Alexander School still has organic garlic for sale.  It is $3.00 for 3 ounces.

It certainly has become time up on the hill for coats, hats, and mittens.  There always seems to be a little wind on the hill and it can get chilly.  Be sure to send you children dressed for the weather as AES goes out for recess whenever possible.

The AES library was full of laughter as the entire school, from Pre-K-8th grade worked on Christmas decorations for the community Christmas party.  On Tuesday, the older kids made elves and reindeer that will adorn the bulletin boards.  In the afternoon grades 3 and 4 made Santa Claus along with more elves and reindeer.  Wednesday, Pre-K, Kindergarten and 1st graders made stockings and wreath decorations.  The book for the week was “There was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Bug” by Lucille Colandro.  Thursday the big kids returned to the library, and those who were all caught on their work helped to make some props for the Christmas party and then ended the day with a rousing game of “Left, Right, Center.”  Along with the party excitement and decoration making everyone had the opportunity to return, renew and check out new books.  This week all the Christmas titles were on display exciting many of the readers!
