Town News

I hope everyone is getting their shopping done in this busy time of year. Between the family gatherings, the baking, the staff parties, no wonder the holiday season flies right by! We, at Indian Township School are busy too, with fund raisers, basketball games, and holiday celebrations.

On December 8, the 8th grade class is sponsoring a Toy Bingo! This is always a fun event, and I am sure it will be successful. It will be held at the Rec Center. Doors open at 5:00, with games to begin at 6:00. A concession stand will be available. Prices are as follows:

6 Face – Donation of $5.00

12 Face – Donation of $10.00, Quickies - $1.00

Proceeds to benefit the 8th grade class trip at the end of the year.

ITS Christmas concert, an event we all look forward to, is happening on December 16, at 10:00 AM in the school gym. Children in each grade will sing a Christmas song in Passamaquoddy. Somehow, the translation sounds even more beautiful in Passamaquoddy.

Also happening on the same day is our Christmas Family Dinner. Parents and Caregivers are invited to dine with their child during their child’s lunch time. Here are the lunch times.

If your child is in grades Pre-k through 2 they eat at 11:10-11:35. Grades 3 through 5 eat at 11:45-12:10. Middle school grades 6 through 8 eat at 12:15-12:35. We ask that you let Ms. Tonya know if you plan on eating with your children to make sure we have enough food. Call 796-2362 to let her know.

We have new chairs in the Library! A donation was made to the ITS Library, and we were able to get all new chairs, and some new shelving to allow space for more books. We were running out of room! The chairs are vinyl, which allows for thorough cleaning every day, as opposed to the old chairs. They were cloth and very difficult to keep clean and germ free. This may not seem like a big deal to you, but it is to me, as I work in the Library all day and it is nice to see the improvements; especially with the tree up!

That’s all the news for this week. Until next week, take care, and keep learning.
