The Parks and Recreation Committee is on schedule for their special Valentine’s Dinner for 5 couples at the Bellmard Inn on Saturday, February 11th starting at 7:00 p.m. For $20 per couple, a lasagna dinner which includes beverages, a salad, plain/garlic bread, a desert and valentine gift are provided. It has been busy at the library. Three patrons donated many wonderful books that Heidi has been cataloging. One was a complete Stuart Woods series. Here is a reminder that the library is offering an opportunity to get help with your taxes at no charge. Sign up at the library for a 15 minutes appointment with the consultant for February 22 starting at 1:00 - 5:00 p.m. The library hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 10-3; Wednesday 12-6. Or call at 796-5333. Also the story hour for this month will be February 15 from 4:00 - 5:00 p.m.

Our new 4-H club sent $200 in gift cards to 4-Hers in Tennessee from their bake sale at Tractor Supply. The next planned event is for the Speech Demonstrations on March 18.

The Princeton Foodmart posted this on Facebook. I copied it for those who don’t do Facebook.

“This weekend our fax number was spoofed, which means someone has hijacked our number and is using it to call local residents (our fax number and Princeton Foodmart will show up on a caller ID). These people will tell you your credit card number has been compromised and will ask for your information.. DO NOT GIVE IT OUT! We at the Princeton Foodmart will never ask you for that information over the phone. If you get one of these calls please call your local police and report it!!”

I checked at the town office and the Town of Princeton still is looking for volunteers for the Board of Appeals. The Appeals Board meets on an as needed basis. If someone is not happy after talking to the assessor about their taxes they can meet with the Appeals Board to appeal his or her decision, so this is a very limited commitment.

Also still looking for volunteers for the Budget Committee. At one time, there were as many as fifteen on the committee. Last year we had three. The Budget Committee will meet in late March and there will probably be at the most 4 to 6 meetings for the committee. These both are opportunities to contribute to your town in a very meaningful way and yet not be a long term obligation. Please consider helping out and call Donna at the Town Office at 796-2744 or email
