Maine Farmers Recovered 65,000lbs of Food in 2016

 Healthy Acadia would like to thank the many generous farms who supported the 2016 Gleaning Initiative in Washington and Hancock counties.  Their effort and generosity resulted in the recovery of 65,000 pounds of food - 200,000 servings! – that would otherwise have gone to waste, with a value of over $100,000, and with the support of 200 volunteers in the field.  Healthy Acadia encourages community members to support these and other local farms by buying local:
