Happenings At Greenland Point Center

With camping season nearly upon us, board members and volunteers are working tirelessly to get Greenland Point Center ready for our summer sessions. Brochure applications are still being delivered to area schools in anticipation of all those excited campers. Maintenance is being done both inside and out.  Staff has been hired and some creative new ideas taking shape. It's sure to be a fun filled summer at Greenland Point Center.

Our first camp this season is "Equestrian Camp" scheduled from June 25- 30 and is intended for the 10- 17 year-old age group. If your young one is a horse lover, this is the camp he/she has been waiting for.  We work in partnership with Lil' Bit Aud Farm to teach all aspects of care, from grooming, feeding, and equipment to arena and trail riding. Campers will also take advantage of offerings at Greenland Point Center as well; including swimming, kayaking, fishing, hiking and many more activities.

We also are preparing a Cash Calendar fundraising effort for the month of July.  Board members are selling tickets to be drawn for daily cash prizes. Ticket holders can win multiple times because your number is returned to the barrel after the draw. We have committed a total of $1500.00 in prizes including $100.00 EVERY Saturday and $200.00 in honor of July 4th.  Tickets are $10.00.  Get your ticket by contacting board members including: Ken Getchell of Roque Bluffs, Dennis Sprowl of Machias, Darin McGaw of Baileyville, Jamie Bohanon of Baileyville, Bill Kokodnicki of Princeton, Chris White of Princeton, Marcia Hayward of Calais, or Jon Speed of Princeton.

Greenland Point Center is an environmental education and outdoor recreation center in Princeton, ME.  We are situated on 64 acre peninsula which extends into Long Lake. The peninsula is covered with a mature forest rich with wildlife. Songbirds frequent the cabin circle during the day and the call of loons fill the night.
