I have to apologize to you for a date/time error that got a number of people upset, I heard for my husband.  He’d not been sure that it was I who did it, but I’d put in the time and date wrong for Sammy Seavey’s funeral.  I’d said it was to be on Sunday, May 28th at 2 p.m.  That is the date/time for the funeral of another friend of ours, and my brain just plain  flipped out!   I’m so sorry!

The funeral was actually today, Saturday, at 10 a.m., and it was, as expected jam-packed with so many people who knew or knew of and appreciated Sammy for his many fine qualities and abilities.  They even put a TV and speaker in the Parish Hall, so everyone could hear and see all that was going on in the sanctuary at the Dennysville-Edmunds Congregational Church.  Even the Parish Hall was quite full.  I’m pretty sure that no one was misled, since the correct information was available in many other places, and Ken had Wayne Seeley send out an extra emailing to the other fire departments who might be coming.  There was a uniformed contingent from one other community, possibly Whiting, since we saw a school bus from Whiting parked out by the Town Office building.  All the many members of the Dennysville Ambulance and the Fire Department, both of which he had served so well, including as Fire Chief.    With Sammy, I was amazed to hear all the things he’s done with his life and particularly how he has served others wherever and whenever he could.  He was a doer and a giver.

The Garrapy Food Pantry has distributed over five tons of food this month to 410 individuals, including 67 households in the week before Mother’s Day.  Thanks to all who have contributed in any way to this ministry in Christ’s Name.
