Girl Scouts of Maine to Host Week-long Programs

Girl Scouts of Maine (GSME) announces that it will host two Girl Scout week-long programs, free of charge, for potential members in Calais in July.

These programs will bring together girls from kindergarten through third grade and second through sixth grade respectively with Girl Scout adults and allow them to discover more about Girl Scouting, engage in hands-on activities, and how they can make a difference in their communities.

"Girl Scouts helps girls develop their full potential," says Joanne Crepeau, CEO of Girl Scouts of Maine. "When a girl becomes a Girl Scout, she grows into a young woman who is self-confident, strong and compassionate. She learns how to build and maintain healthy relationships. She becomes more aware of the world around her and uses her skills and talents to make her world a better place."

These programs are just some of the many events that GSME holds throughout the year. Here is a list of events in your area:

• July 10 – 14 (M-F), 9:00 - 11:00 a.m., for grades K-3

• July 17 – 21, (M-F), 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., for grades 2-6
