THROUGH JULY 31: PAWS Stars & Stripes Adoption Event, a grand celebration of independence, featuring an exceptional line-up of felines available for an adoption fee of $17.76 plus a donation of your choice. JULY 19: SummerKeys presents Mary Potterton Memorial Concerts at the Lubec Congregational Church at 7:30 p.m. Kent Hewitt, jazz piano.

JULY 19: “Maine Woods - Maine Waters” Songs of Maine Lumbermen, Lighthouse Keepers, Fishermen and Deep Sea Sailors at the Pembroke Library from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Part of their Monthly Chantey Sing. Free refreshments after.

JULY 19: Pembroke Library’s monthly chantey sing: Maine Woods - Maine Waters, songs of Maine Lumbermen, Lighthouse Keepers, Fishermen and Deep Sea Sailors from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Free. Donations accepted.

JULY 20: Calais United Methodist Church Supper, 849 Main Street at 5:00 p.m. Baked beans, casseroles, pies, rolls etc.

JULY 20: Meddybemps Historical Society will be having a meeting at the Community Center at 6:00 p.m.  All members are encouraged to attend.

JULY 20 & 27:  10:00-11:00 St. Anne’s Episcopal Church – Messy Art for children ages 5 and up, younger children can attend with an adult – no charge – FMI 454-8016.

JULY 20: SummerKeys presents Mary Potterton Memorial Concerts at the Lubec Congregational Church at 7:30 p.m. Cabaret Duo - Jennie Litt and David Alpher, “The Waltz.”

JULY 21: Republican State Chair Demi Kouzounas will be speaking to Washington County Republicans at the Blue Bird Restaurant in Machias. 5:00 p.m. dinner, presentation at 6:00 p.m.

JULY 22: The Saturday Night Rock Band is performing at Just South of the Border from 9:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.

JULY 22: Frank Seger and his Timber Creek band will be presenting a concert of bluegrass, country and gospel music at the Perry Congregational Church at 7 p.m. Proceeds will benefit the Lincoln family’s medical bills.

JULY 23 & 30: Conversation on body/mind/spirit St. Anne’s Episcopal Church, 6:30-8:00.

JULY 26: SummerKeys presents Mary Potterton Memorial Concerts at the Lubec Congregational Church at 7:30 p.m. Charles Jones, piano.

JULY 26: St. Anne’s Episcopal Church will be celebrating the Festival of St. Anne with an outdoor market at the church, corner of Washington and Church Streets in Calais. Baked goods, Celtic evening prayer.

JULY 29: Magic the Gathering at the Calais Recreation Center from noon to 6:00 p.m.

 

August 

AUGUST 18 and AUGUST 26: There will be a FREE Firearms Hunter Safety Course August 18th from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and August 26th from  9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. You must attend both days. Call 454-8882 to register.
