This year’s Chair Affair Auction, is now scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 8 at Triangle Park, Downtown Calais. This annual fundraiser for Calais Downtown Revitalization Coalition (CDRC)  will precede the Music on the Green concert. Bring  a chair to sit in to watch the festivities, have a bite to eat, and take home a beautifully decorated chair or two if you are the high bidder in this ever popular event. The generous and talented Jeff Demmons of WQDY will be making an encore as the auctioneer.

Businesses and organizations throughout Calais are offering decorated Adirondack chairs of various sizes and some fences for auction at this year’s event which is back by popular demand due to its huge success. An incredible amount of creative energy goes into these unique chairs and fences. Here’s your chance to own one!

Chairs can be viewed all over Calais and here are some of the businesses and organizations who have generously sponsored and decorated these great chairs and fences: Artemis’s Attic, Bangor Savings Bank, Baring Gifts, The Calais Advertiser, Calais Crossing River House Bed & Breakfast, Calais Free Library, Calais Motor Inn, Calais Regional Hospital,  Camden National Bank, City of Calais, Crumbs, Karen Delaney, DDS, Dollar Tree,  Down East Credit Union The First National Bank, Flowers by Janie, Grampy Bill’s Place, International Buy and Sell Currency Exchange, International Motel, Jo’s Diner and Pizzeria, Karen’s Diner and Corner Pub, Machias Savings Bank, Rachel Ashley Jewelers, Sherwin Williams, Smoke on the Water,  Urban Moose, Wicked Ink & Gift Shop.
