On Tuesday, July 18, the St. Croix Regional Family Health Center in Princeton held an open house to give area residents an opportunity to view their dental facilities. All visitors were welcomed by staff, given a toothbrush, and a ticket for two door prizes: a dental checkup and an electric teeth cleaner. Then staff members gave tours of the facility which ended with a nice buffet of sandwiches, fresh fruit and veggie platters and cookies.
For many years, it has been a major goal of the Center to be able to offer affordable dental care as part of their services. There were many hurdles, first with financing to finish off the first floor of the building initially built in 1998, then purchasing the equipment, and finally staffing.
Now the Center can be proud of their full-service dental department. Their dentist is Jane Ogembo, who has many years of experience working in New York; Jean L’Italien, their dental hygienist, and certified dental assistant, Sarah Hoche. They have the latest equipment with which to work and can offer the following services: preventative, restorative and cosmetic dentistry, emergency care, dentures, root canals, crowns and extractions. Additionally, they offer sliding fee discounts based on family size and income and accept most insurances.
They have hours which are very accommodating: Monday, Wednesday and Thursday 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 8:30 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.. They are accepting new patients and this is an opportunity to take care of an important aspect of your and your family’s personal health. You can never start too early as it is recommended that children begin dental visits by their first tooth...and as the old saying goes “practice what you preach”, I won the free checkup including x-rays....
