Several folks gathered at the Alexander Grange Hall on Saturday, October 7th for a liquid laundry detergent soap making class.  Jenny Sanford of Alexander brought all of the ingredients for the project to show how the soap was made and brought a completed sample so that the folks in attendance could see the final product.  Jenny was an awesome teacher explaining how making soap works and the science of it along with some historical points of interest.  At the end of the class each participant was able to go home with a sample and a bar of Jenny’s homemade laundry soap to start the process at home.   The next item on the Alexander Grange’s horizon is Seed Saving which will be presented by Alexander’s very own Pat Cormier during a regular Grange Meeting on October 18th.  The meeting begins at 7:00 p.m. and all are welcome.  For more information call Debbie Hanson at 454-8733.

Come Halloween there is fun to be had in Alexander.  If you live on a back road or down one of the lake roads and miss seeing the little ghouls and goblins there are two alternatives for you this year.  The Alexander Town Office will be having a Trunk or Treat on Halloween Night.  Anyone wishing to decorate their vehicle and hand out candy please give Karen Poor a call at the Town Office, 454-3011, so she can plan on space.  If you would rather be warm and inside, the Alexander Grange Hall will be opening its doors for handing out treats.  The Grange will supply heat, tables, tablecloths and chairs. All you need to do is bring the treats and feel free to decorate you table space.  For more information or to reserve a space contact Deb Hanson at 454-8733.

This week with FBC I went to WCCC to practice my basketball skill drills, played cards and had salad with chicken for lunch.  But the highlight of my week was when my Dad told me that the van lift part had arrived.  He took our van to Bangor so that the lift could be repaired.  So I am now on the road once again.  Thank you Dad!
