Woodland will host Penobscot Valley on Tuesday at 2:00 for the Class D quarterfinal game. The winner will continue to the semi-finals on Friday to play the winner of the Central Aroostook/MSSN contest.

Class C Prelim at Woodland

Woodland 3 def. Shead 2 OT

The Woodland Dragons hosted the Shead Tigers in a home preliminary contest on Friday, October 20. Shortly after the game had begun, Chris Plissey netted the first goal for Woodland. Drew Hayward followed with another, assisted by Jason Lockenwitz to give the Dragons a 2-0 lead. The Tigers come back and tied the game behind two goals from Damien Lank. The two teams silenced each other through 20-minutes of two-overtime periods that ultimately resulted in three rounds of penalty kicks (30-players) to decide who would take the victory. Gavin Gardner made what proved to be the winning goal in the game, and Woodland keeper Alex Morrison made the save to secure the victory and help the Dragons continue their playoff run. 

Woodland 4 def. Shead 3

In Eastport Dragon junior Drew Hayward earned a “hat trick” to help propel Woodland to a 4-3 decision over their Tiger hosts. Sophomore Chris Plissey earned the fourth goal for Woodland, while Shead had all their tallies by Ethan Lank. Dragon goalie Alex Morrison collected 15 of 24 Tiger attempts on goal. CJ Francis brought down 22 of the 30 Dragons shots on goal. 

Calais 5 def. Machias 1

The Calais Blue Devils earned five goals from 5 players in their season finale at home against Machias. Collecting a hit were Blake Collins, Jacob Hornbrook, Cody Pellerin, Nathan Smith, and Addison Coty. Jordan Rhodes hit the lone Bulldog score, while their goalie Tyler Wentzell gathered 12 of 38. Calais freshman goalie Cameron Kelly stopped 7 of 13 in the victory.
