This Sunday from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. is the annual Treats on Wheels event at Legacy Square. This is a joint effort by the Friends of Princeton and the Princeton Elementary School. Last year twenty-five vehicles participated and many of the cars and trucks were decorated with terrific creative Halloween themes. The Princeton Library and Town Office gave out treats and many local businesses were there as well. This is a fun time for all trick or treaters so don’t miss out! Vehicles need to be there by 3:45.

Lots of Tots Child Care is in the process of its annual boxes of stuffing drive. The stuffing goes into the Thanksgiving Baskets for Solidarity Harvest. Drop off stuffing or cash donation to Lots of Tots between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday. Call Penni Theriault at Lots of Tots Child Care 796-5199 or email lotsoftots@roadrunner.com for more information.

Time is almost up for removing items from the Princeton cemeteries (October 31). If you haven’t done this, now is the time to do so.

Also from October 15 until January 31 is the time frame for licensing or relicensing all dogs over six months old. All dogs need to have proof of a current rabies vaccination. The licensing fees are $6 for neutered/spayed dogs and $11 for unaltered dogs. There will be a fine of $25 per dog for dogs not licensed by January 31. This is imposed by the State of Maine and cannot be waived by the town. Hours at the town office are: 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, 12:45 - 4:00 p.m..

The general election is Tuesday, November 7 from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Princeton Town Office. If you are not registered, now is the time to go to the town office. Bring proof of your physical address and a driver’s license or the last four numbers of your social security number. There are four questions on the ballot. For information this is the first question: Question 1: Citizen Initiative - An Act To Allow Slot Machines or a Casino in York County. Do you want to allow a certain company to operate table games and/or slot machines in York County, subject to state and local approval, with part of the profits going to the specific programs described in the initiative?
