Linda Baniszeski

Happy Birthday wishes to Bonnie Smith and Barry Baniszeski on November 3.   I never know what to get Barry for his birthday.  Scuffy gave me some ideas.  We brought them back from my recent travels to Pennsylvania for cancer follow-up at Univ. of PA, and a visit with my cousin in upstate New York.  Barry stayed home and held down the fort.  Besides, he is much too busy to go gallivanting around the East Coast with me and my little k-9 sidekick.

Before I went on my trip, Barry and I enjoyed dinner with the Lentz’s when they served a very nice moose roast.  Also invited were Ray and Maria Morse.  It was a great meal.  Although I do not especially like game meat, I must say my sister Patti prepared and slow roasted it in such a way that no one would have known it wasn’t simply a good beef roast.   Barry and I celebrated our 36th wedding anniversary with a nice dinner.  Cards but no gifts were exchanged.  A completely happy marriage spanning all these years is the most precious gift of all.

Karen and Dennis Gilbert were here to close up their camp for the season.  It is hard to see family and many seasonal residents leave for the winter.  Fall is beautiful, yet bitter-sweet with some of the changes.  The Gilbert camp looks beautiful with it’s new vinyl board and batten style siding.  It complements the grey metal roofing that was put on last year.  With the new windows and white trim, it has undergone a dramatic change.  It always looked great; but now it’s really a showplace.

Marc Reynolds’ camp has also taken on a wonderful new look.  He also installed new replacement windows and siding in a warm barn red.  This neighborhood is getting more spiffy all the time.

Not much news this week.  Please send your news to or phone 454-3719.

Blessings to all.
