Gordon E. MacArthur, 87, passed away at the VA Home in Bangor, ME on Sunday, November 5, 2017 following a long illness.

Gordon was born on November 7, 1929 to Allard and Olive (Bailey) MacArthur in Princeton, ME.

Gordon attended schools in Princeton, ME. He was a member of the American Legion and the Spednic Club.

Gordon was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1951 and was injured in Korea where he served for two years.

He was a trucker all his life and he loved it. He worked for Orland Dwelley and Earl Stanhope.

Gordon was a friend to all. He always greeted people with a smile and was a very caring and loving person. He will be greatly missed. 

He enjoyed hunting with his son Dale and fishing with his grandchildren. He was an avid music lover and played guitar and mandolin. He always enjoyed dancing with his wife and shopping. 

Gordon is survived by his loving wife Mimi, his children Dale and wife Brenda, David and Debra; siblings Ellis, Colin and Louise Deschaine; and three step-children. Grandchildren Jessie, Chelsie, Danielle, Chris, Lindsey, Shelby and a special granddaughter Amanda; great-grandchildren Anthony, Christopher, Stephanie, Emilie, Garrianna, Kayden, Konnor, also two loving sisters-in-law Genny McKeil and Beatrice Eyler and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, daughter Dawn Marie and several siblings.

A graveside military service will be at the Calais Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 12, 2017.
