This will be a busy week in Princeton with special events. First we have to get the lights on the tree in Legacy Square. Hopefully there is still a warm day this week. Also, Heidi, the librarian, is taking a well deserved vacation this week and I will be substituting for her. If you haven’t been to the library lately, there are many new movies and books thanks to some wonderful donations. Heidi has worked hard to get everything sorted and registered and out on the shelves.

First Reminder: Thursday is the deadline to drop off your baked cookies (sugar, peanut butter, chocolate chip, ect.), brownies, or any kind of sweets for the annual Princeton Fire Department Christmas baskets. You can leave your goodies at the Old School House Family Restaurant or call to have them picked up.

Second Reminder: Princeton’s newest business, Kraft Kreations (located in the same building as the Old School House Family Restaurant) will be having their grand opening on Saturday. from 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. They will be having a raffle for a $50 gift certificate along with a door prize.

Third Reminder: Saturday is the Downeast STEM Hub Program at the library from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. and will be hosting the Family Code Event (computer programming). Participation is free but note that registration is required. To register or for more information, please contact Tara Wood at 207-255-3345 or email attara.a.wood@maine.edu.

Fourth Reminder: Also Saturday from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. is the Friends of Princeton annual Christmas Tree Lighting. Caroling and the tree lighting will start at Legacy Square at 6:00 p.m. then continue at the Fire Station. Fire Department helpers will make sure Santa Claus makes an appearance and the Parks and Recreation Committee will be on hand to help decorate and take photos. Friends will provide cookies, cocoa and a small gift. All cookie bakers bring goodies to the Princeton Fire Station between 5:00-5:30 p.m.

Also on Thursday, the St. Croix Regional Family Health Center will be having their last event for November. Tara Dwelley, NP will be providing information on Managing Hypertension. This is a free event including light refreshments from 1:30 - 2:30. Additionally the center offers help during this open enrollment period for healthcare insurance. Note that the deadline this year is December 15. The contact is Dee Dee Phelps at 796-5503 or email dphelps@scrfhc.org.
