SARAH MULCAHY WINS 1,155 RUNNER MARATHON AT MILLINOCKET

Local stand-out marathon runner Sarah Mulcahy competed on Saturday in Millinocket where over 3,000 spectators and nearly 1,200 runners watched the 26.2-mile event on a tough up & down course. Sarah lives in Princeton and teaches at Woodland Junior High School. Not only did she win the ladies’ event, but she earned a superb third place overall behind only the top two male competitors. The winner of the race, Robert Ashby, covered the long event in 2:47.44 by running an average of 9.9-miles per hour. In third, Sarah took only 2:56.05 and ran an average of 9.4-miles per hour for the entire 26.2-miles! Fantastic effort Sarah!
