I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year!  I hope everyone has most of their shopping complete and are ready to relax and enjoy the holiday season with family and friends.  I will have office hours on Thursday, December 21st from 4:30-6:30 p.m. as usual.  The Cooper town office is open for regular office hours on the first and third Thursday of the month.  I will be at the office on Thursday, January 4th and Thursday, January 18th from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.  The next Select Board Meetings will be held on Saturday, January 6th and January 20, 2018.  The next Planning Board Meeting is scheduled for January 6th at 10:00 a.m.

The Community Christmas Party at the Cooper Community Center on Sunday, December 10th from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. was a wonderful event planned by the Cooper Community Friends group.  I want to send a special thanks to Sally Ketchen of Meddybemps, Maine who sent us some beautiful books about the Christmas story to pass out to children at the party.  Joyful Christmas music was provided by John Viselli, Bob Poirier, and Barbara Lapham.  Many people attending joined in the singing and tried to remember the motions that go along with songs such as the “Twelve Days of Christmas.” Everyone participated in cookie decorating and they were delivered around town.  I dropped my beautiful creations off to Justin Day on my way home when I found him shoveling the end of his driveway.  He planned to head inside for a few cookies and a hot cup of sustenance in order to warm up. Joanne McMahon was also celebrating another birthday on Dec. 10th and she has gotten wise and started to turn the number around.  Happy Birthday Joanne!
