The Woodland Dragons have a well-balanced squad this season as they have solid shooters from anywhere on the floor, strong defense, and are very tough off the boards. The team opened its season at home as they hosted a quality Machias squad. The guests jumped ahead in the opening period sporting a narrow 15-13 lead. The second frame saw Machias collect 10 while their counterparts hit 11 giving the guests a 25-24 lead midway.  The third period the Dragons defense held the Bulldogs to 8-points while Drew Hayward sparked Woodland with 6 helping them to take a 36-33 lead. In the final stanza Woodland powered to a 59-42 victory as they held their guests to 9 while pouring in 21 points. In the win Drew Hayward led all scorers with 21 points and 5 assists, Justin Worden hit 11 and 15 rebounds, Chris Plissey 8, and 6-each from Gavin Gardner and Sabre Phelps, and Alex Morrison pulled down 8 rebounds.



Way up in the county at Madawaska the Dragons took charge in the opening frame as Chris Plissey paced the squad to a 23-10 lead with 9 points. The game was over in the second period when Woodland’s defense allowed just a single free throw, while adding 16 more to the score. The guests took the game to the final buzzer sporting a 62-29 win. Chris Plissey led all players with 17 points, Justin Worden poured in 14 and took a huge 19 boards, while Sabre Phelps hit 9, Drew Hayward 7, with 5 each by Matt Miller and Gavin Gardner (6-rebounds).
