Join the Pink Zone

The Calais Lady Blue Devils will host the sixth annual Pink Zone game against the Woodland Lady Dragons on Wednesday, January 31 at 5 p.m. (Junior Varsity) & 6:30 p.m. (Varsity). Calais Regional Hospital is sponsoring the game to raise awareness about breast cancer.

For this one night fans are asked to drop their team colors and unite together by wearing pink to the game. All fans wearing pink will be eligible for a special door prize.  As in years past, Pink Zone Supporter PCT Communications will be on site with lots of great information, promotional items and the chance to win an Android tablet.

CRH staff will be on hand to answer questions and provide Breast Cancer Awareness information and promotional items at the game.   Survivors are encouraged to attend and will be recognized during halftime of the varsity game.

Early detection and educating yourself about breast cancer can be two of the best possible “medicines” toward fighting the disease.   Women in their 20’s and 30’s should have clinical breast exams at least every 3 years.   Screening mammograms should begin at the age of 40.  Remember, once is not enough – the key to mammography screening is that it be done routinely each year.

Please join the Lady Blue Devils and Lady Dragons in your most outlandish apparel or just something positively pink as we unite as one community to raise awareness, remember those touched by breast cancer and celebrate the many survivors.  FMI about the Pink Zone Game, contact DeeDee Travis, CRH Director of Community Relations at 454-9227.
