It was good to get back home to Princeton on Wednesday. People ask me, “Aren’t you bored living in a small town?”, and I answer that “I have never been so busy.” Furthermore, who wants to spend hours per week being in traffic jams on a five-lane highway?

The Princeton Parks and Recreation Committee had their meeting on Thursday February 1 6:00 p.m. at the Town Office. We started on plans for the Fresh Water Festival. The date this year will be Saturday, June 23. The next meeting for the PPRC is Monday, March 5 at 6:00 p.m. at the Town Office. Everyone who is interested in helping out at the festival is welcome for sure.

I am not a rabid football fan but I have been watching the sport since I was young and the only team we could watch was the NY Giants on black and white TV. Once our area got the Patriots, I was a supporter through the bad years and have enjoyed the great years. We did make our usual fare of pizza, including making our own dough, and it tasted great on this cold day along with good old fashioned gingerbread. I was sorry that the Pats lost but it was an exceptional game.

Good news that the library will once again be hosting the Maine Humanities “Let’s Talk About it Program”. Last year we had sixteen participants, which made for excellent discussions. We are in the process of setting up the dates. It will not be until June. Heidi, the librarian, said that there are still some openings for help with taxes. The date is Wednesday, February 21 and appointments are available starting at 2:15 p.m.

This Friday, February 9 is the Princeton Elementary School Snow “Ball” from 6-8p.m. sponsored by the PTO for Grades 4-8. Formal attire is required (no jeans) and children under grade 4 must be accompanied by an adult (not a HS sibling). The cost is $3 for a single person or $10 for a family.

And finally, I came down with the flu this afternoon. It is rampant around town so beware. I tried to be careful, but here I go.
