Lincoln Memorial Library in Dennysville

First Monday Tea at the Library took place this week with a few missing from the usual attendees, but still a pleasant time of convivial conversation and the refreshment of a “cuppa,” as the British would put it.

Last Friday the movie night ended up featuring the third movie in the All Creatures Great and Small series (which takes place in Yorkshire, England), plus the first of the stories of 12th century Brother Cadfael, a Welsh-born, “later-in-life” Benedictine monk of the Abby in Shrewsberry, England near the Welsh border - A Morbid Taste for Bones.  This wasn’t the original plan, but next time, Friday, March 16th, we WILL be seeing, as well as #4 of All Creatures …, the Miss Marple tale, Murder in the Library written by the famous English author, Agatha Christie.  So … another mystery solved, since the Miss Marple DVDs had “hidden” themselves, but are now found!

Here’s a  heads up about a fundraiser appearance by Maine humorist Tim Sample at the Edmunds School on Friday, April 27th at 7 p.m.  Tickets may be purchased ahead at the Edmunds School or the Pembroke Irving ($16) or at door Friday night ($20).  It’s always an entertaining show and Tim seems to especially enjoy performing for these local occasions.
