Robbinston Weather Summary For February: 

February was very mild with near normal precipitation and below normal snowfall. The monthly mean temperature of 27.5 degrees was 5.5 degrees above normal. This was the third warmest February in 24 years of record; the monthly mean temperature was 27.8 degrees in 1998 and 27.7 degrees in 2010. Maximum temperature of 51 degrees occurred on the 28th, while the minimum of minus 4 degrees occurred on the 3rd. There were 7 days with maximums 32 degrees or below, 26 days with minimums 32 degrees or below, and 2 days with minimums zero or below. There were 1,044 heating degree days or 166 below normal. Total since July stands at 5,109 or 310 below normal.

Total precipitation of 4.33 inches was .10 inches above normal. Total since January stands at 13.58 inches or 5.99 inches above normal. Maximum daily amount was 1.10 on the 5th.  There were 17 days with measurable precipitation. Total snowfall of 17.0 inches was 6.0 inches below normal. Total since November stands at 62.5 inches or 10.0 inches below normal. Maximum daily amount was 5.5 inches on the 7th. There were 8 days with measurable snowfall, and 27 days with snow depth an inch or more. Maximum depth was 10 inches on the 10th.

Mean monthly barometer was 30.17 inches. This easily beat the old February high of 30.05 inches set in 1997; the average is 29.90 inches. The highest barometer reached a February record high of 30.83 inches on the 13th; this broke the old record of 30.82 inches set in February 1, 2008! Lowest barometer was 29.40 inches on the 5th. Mean relative humidity was 82.6 percent; monthly low was 40 per cent on the 27th. Prevailing winds were South Southwest with an average speed of 3.0 miles per hour.
