Dennysville-Edmunds Congregational Church

The Lenten Bible Study, which is considering temptation in the book by C.S. Lewis, “The Screwtape Letters” and the guidance and reasurrance to be found in the Bible on what to expect and how to deal with temptation, has been so popular with the members of the group that, by popular consent, it will continue as an “Easter Season Bible Study” on Fridays.  The times varying with the needs of the group members.  This coming week it will begin at 10 a.m. on the downstairs level of the Parish Hall.

Easter Sunday will be, as always, a festive occasion, including added members in the choir, especially celebratory music, and many lilies, given in memory of family and friends.

On Saturday, in the Parish Hall there will be the popular monthly public breakfast.  No one goes away hungry or disappointed, and the meeting of friends and neighbors is always greatly enjoyed.

Several members of the church will be attending, and some participating in a reading of the story of Passion Week in a service at Christ Church Episcopal in Eastport on Friday, March 30th, at 1 p.m, sponsored by GEECA.  Following that service, there will also be a traditional observance of the Stations of the Cross, for those who wish to remain.  If you’ve never experienced this, it would be a new opportunity to follow Christ’s way to the Cross, with meditations at each Station.
