Spring Soup and Salad Fundraiser for Cobscook Trip to Philly

The Cobscook Experiential Program is holding a soup and salad fundraiser on Friday, April 6th from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., and the public is invited. Students are raising money for their upcoming trip to Philadelphia. Dinner will be accompanied by live music and a raffle.  The suggested donation for the dinner is $10 per person or $25 per family. All proceeds will directly support students in hands-on learning experiences during the trip.

“Traveling expeditions are an integral part of our high school program,” says teacher Michael Giudilli. “When we’re on trips, students learn directly from people and places in powerful ways that compliment classroom learning.”  Among the schedule visits for this trip are stops at Independence Hall and the National Constitution Center, a tour of the Martin Guitar Factory, and stops along the way at the University of Maine, and the Maine State Capitol and Museum.

The Cobscook Experiential Program is an interdisciplinary high school program housed at the Cobscook Community Learning Center and available through Calais High School. Those interested in more information can visit www.cclc.me or call 207-733-2233 ext. 312.
