Soup and Poetry A Success

Soup and Poetry at the Calais Free Library was again a rousing success. There were 17 present and well over half read one or more poems, many written by the readers themselves, some published poets, reading from their own books.  Again, as is always true, it was different in focus and discussion from any other time.  There always different, and that makes it even more interesting and fun.

Of course, the soups, breads, and sweets were delicious, which we’ve come to expect, but the sharing and talk, the listening and reading, is what makes this event truly a special time.

The next Soup & Poetry occasion is planned to come around again sometime in October.  Months to go, but … if you see a poem you like, put it somewhere that you’ll remember, and bring it to share in six months.  The summer will fly by before we know it!
