MAY 1: High School Jazz Night featuring Calais and Shead performers at the Eastport Arts Center at 7 p.m. 

May 3: Calais Celtic Concerts welcomes Fara to Knights of Columbus Hall. Three fiddles and a piano. $20 per ticket for adults, $5 for 15 and under. Show starts at 7 p.m.

MAY 4: Riverside Rebekah food sale at Baileyville Food Mart from 9 a.m. to noon.

MAY 4: Mt. View Chamber Singers at St. Anne’s Episcopal Church in Calais at 7 p.m. FMI 454-8016.

MAY 5: Sewall Memorial Congregational Meeting at the church at 10 a.m.

MAY 5: Breakfast at the Parish Hall in Dennysville from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. Pancakes, eggs, baked beans, juice, etc.

MAY 5: Calais Area Cub and Boy Scout’s 13th Annual Pancake Breakfast at the Calais United Methodist Church in Calais from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. Pancakes, sausage, coffee and juice.

MAY 6: Painting with Wool: a Felting Workshop with Audra Christie for ages 12 & up at the Eastport Arts Center from 12:30-4:30 p.m.  Preregister by email to alison@eastportartscenter.org.

MAY 7: Girl Scouts of Maine will host a Discover Girl Scout event at the Calais Elementary School at 6 p.m. This brings girls together in grades kindergarten through 3rd and their caregivers and allow them to discover why girl scouting is important. FMI 888-922-4763.

MAY 11: Free renewable energy workshop at Sunrise County Economic Council, 7 Ames Way, Machias from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

MAY 12: Lincoln Memorial Library in Dennysville Annual Library Board Meeting at 10 a.m.

MAY 12: The Pembroke Farm & Horse Fair is hosting a public supper and Chinese raffle to benefit this year’s fair at 5 p.m. at the Pembroke Elementary School. Doors open at noon for the raffle, the supper at 5 p.m.

MAY 12: Shriners Hospital for Children complimentary screening clinic from 9 a.m. - noon at the Calais Regional Hospital. Children up to 18 are eligible for care at the hospital, regardless of families ability to pay. Shriners Hospital provides care for Orthopedic conditions, burns, spinal cord injuries, cleft lip and palate. Contact Dennis Bryant (207) 214-6522. 

MAY 16: Girl Scouts of Maine to host free Girl Scout event for girls who are entering kindergarten of first grade at Perry Elementary School at 6 p.m. FMI girlscoutsofmaine.org or 888-922-4763.

MAY 18: Calais Area Breast Cancer Support Group will be meeting at 3 p.m. in the downstairs parlor at the Calais United Methodist Church, 849 Main St., Calais.  This free “gathering” is a comforting and safe environment to find encouragement and hope.  Open to all that have a breast cancer diagnosis.  FMI call Marianne at 454-0501. 

MAY 23: Meridian and Chakra balancing workshop with Paul Ouellette. No background required. Held at 10 Barker Street Suite B, 6 p.m. $5 donation suggested but not mandatory. 

MAY 25: Road toll to benefit Riverside Rebekah Scholarship Fund from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in front of the Legion Hall.

JUNE 12: Maine Educational Opportunity Center will host a free workshop, Essentials of College Planning for adults 19 and over at WCCC in Claais from 9 a.m.. to 11 a.m.
