At a special dinner ceremony, at the St. Croix Knights of Columbus Hall Sunday night, Calais Celtic Concert Director Tom MacDonald presented a check for $1,000.00 to the Officers of the Council, for their High School scholarship fund. Each year the Knights of Columbus give out the High School Scholarships to both Baileyville and Calais High School. For the past few years, the scholarships have been funded by the Calais Celtic Concerts Series.

The concert series holds between 10 and 18 shows per year of special award winning groups from around the world, in the Calais area. Last year they featured top acts from Wales, Scotland, Ireland, The Isle of Man, Canada, and the US. Their seventh season will kick off on February 11th at the Knights of Columbus Hall, with the duo of Colin Grant, formerly of Coig) and Scott Macmillan, Conductor of the N.S. Symphony and a Master Guitarist. March will feature two of their biggest shows yet with Lennie Gallant from PEI, on March 5th and the Irish Descendants from Newfoundland, on March 25th.
