Photos For Chad

By Amy Jeanroy

When Narraguagus Senior Chad Perry was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma, a type of bone cancer, the Downeast community did what it does best, and started coming together to support the Perry family.

During basketball games, when players would present a donation or well wishes, photographer John Rogers was there. As time went on, Rogers decided that he had something to offer the community to help raise funds for the Perry family and use his extraordinary talent to do so. That was the moment that “Photos for Chad” was born.

Rogers fills two newspapers with high action, beautiful sports photographs each week, but readers may not realize that these are only a few of the photos he takes during the numerous sports events he attends. Both the published photos, as well as many more in his inventory would make the perfect keepsake for a sports player's family. Now, these photos are going to be available to purchase for the first time.

Photos For Chad is a fundraiser offered by John Rogers, who is offering colored 11x 17 action shots for $45 each and the proceeds (less expenses) will go to Chad Perry's family.

To choose a photo, families can select anything from The Calais Advertiser or the Machias Valley News Observer to be printed. If they are looking for someone in particular, email their name directly to John, and he will check his inventory. Requests may be made to John Rogers through his email    -

Checks must be made out to and forwarded to:
