Experiences Auctioned to Support EAC

An unusual live auction will be held at 3 pm, Saturday, July 22, at Eastport Arts Center, to support the center's ongoing work and programming. Called the "Auction of Afternoons," the event gives bidders the opportunity to win experiences rather than possessions, each one featuring the special skills and offerings of our Eastport-area community members. "Here is a chance to dip into the deep, sparkling reservoir of talent and generosity that defines the community of Eastport Arts Center patrons," said auctioneer Jon Calame. Afternoons up for bid include roasting coffee with aficionado Rafi Hopkins (sometimes referred to as "Coffee Hopkins"), a photo safari with local expert Don Dunbar, a chance to learn how to make your own braided rag rug with artist-about-town Anna Hepler, a garlic bulb-planting lesson with Georgie Kendall, tying fishing flies with Chuck Anthony, calling the shots in the WHSD radio booth with Robert Sanchez, and lots more.

For this very special event, the EAC has assembled some of the area's most prodigious talent and each person has agreed to donate an afternoon of their time to the highest bidder-which could be you!  Wine and light refreshments will be served.
