14th Annual Turkey-a-Thon Raises Over $31,000

On Friday October 12th, towns all across Washington County participated in the 14th Annual WQDY Turkey-a-Thon. The event brings groups and communities from all across the county together for a common cause for one day, putting friendly competition and Washington County’s generosity to good use.

MVH Residents Visit Lubec for a Fashion Show


Three residents of the Maine Veterans' Homes of Machias traveled to Lubec recently to attend a fashion show presented by Karen Benn. Among the clothing items featured were dresses from the early 1800s. The outing was especially enjoyed by one of the residents, who was a seamstress herself. Blue Devils Name Event in Memory Of Addison Coty

On Tuesday September 18 the annual Calais High School cross country meet was again hosted at the Moosehorn Refuge but this race took on a new special significance. Addison Coty was lost in a tragic accident this summer. Addison graduated from CHS in June completing an exceptional career in academics and athletics at the school.

Clarissa Arseneault Named TeamUSA Player of the Game


St. Stephen resident and member of TeamUSA’s ball hockey team Clarissa Arseneault was recently named Player of the Game by her teammates following their win over Slovakia during the ongoing Master’s-level world championship in Bermuda. The team is 3-1 heading into the semi-finals. (Facebook photo)

Calais Regional Hospital Recognized For Tobacco-Free Achievements
